Ronin settling into her new surroundings. |
Ronin turned out to be about one year old. We thought she was a he. I swear, she looked like she had a set! Maybe she was just acting like she had a set. Anyway, she visited us the day before and we thought she was a neighbour’s dog. She came back the next day and with a bit of coaxing, decided this was home.
Of course, Thad and I need more animals like I need a hole in the head! We made the commitment right then and there to re-home her. First though, she needed a quick check at the vet and we needed to get rid of those fleas! That poor girl had then all over her. Her ears and tail were wall to wall flea. You couldn't see fir at all! Off to the vet we went.
On the way home, we decided we'd stop off at animal control. We always go by there when we have a new baby to re-home. Sometimes, they know of a person looking for a particular type of animal. While there, a woman comes in with the tiniest of kittens. She had found it on the side of the road. Animal control wasn't able to take on the three week old kitten and would have had to put it down.
We named him Gizmo, which you can see from the caption over there.

Gizmo trying to say hi to Daddy. |
On the way home, Thad and I realized what our mistake was. We weren't being specific enough. We kept wishing for a baby, but not a human baby! So then, we both wished for a human baby.
Well, one of my unofficial kids came home last night and told us his girlfriend is pregnant.
We weren't specific enough yet again. We forgot to say we wanted us to have a human baby! We're giving up at this point. Every time we say "I wish", the genie in the bottle gives us just exactly what we wished for. It's just not the way we expected it!
The two babies that you see above are up for adoption! Ronin is acting more like a puppy and Gizmo is the sweetest little baby. As always, if you're interested, let me know.
What wishes have you made recently, which came true in a backfire sort of way?
