There has always been two food items that I make me puke within minutes of eating it. One is mayonaise. I don't remember ever liking that stuff. The other though, is Chinese food. Now I love Chinese food! I never knew why it made me sick until I was about 18 or so.
It turns out, both mayonaise and Chinese food have something called MSG in them, usually. No matter how great it tastes, within minutes, it's all over the place. For years I looked for a good place to get Chinese food, that didn't have MSG in it. We finally found out that my town's Chinese resteraunt doesn't use MSG. It was a pleasant discovery.
My husband, when he was visiting, wanted Chinese. I told him about my little dilema, and he went over and asked them about it.
Okay, so once I found a resteraunt I liked, I couldn't get enough of the stuff. I mean seriously, it's addicting! My family quickly tired out on it. This year, for my birthday, that's where we went.
Honey got the sweet and sour shrimp, I got the sweet and sour pork, and Big Bear got the sweet and sour chicken. And let me tell you, I ate off of everybody's plate that night! Normally, everyone else is eating off of mine! rofl
Well, I didn't realize it until earlier today, but I hadn't eaten in three days. It's not a matter of me not wanting to eat; I just get caught up in work and quite simply, I forget to eat. Everyone else tonight had chicken noodle soup. I decided that I was going to have my yummies!
So I walk in, and this sweet, cute little ol' man recognizes me immediately. Now Tuesday night is the first time we'd been there in a couple of years, so I was shocked a bit at what happened next. This adorable little guy that barely speaks any English, started writing my order down on a notepad, while telling me "I reeemember yeew! I reeemember your deener essactly!"
I paid for the order and returned a few minutes later to pick it up. Sweet and sour pork, chicken and shrimp this time. All of the above. When I went in to pick it up, he motions to the girl to go get it. She looks at all the food and comments about chinese take out for the whole family.
He looks at her and says "no... it's just for her. Shee's goeeng make cold and eeeat eet later!"
Her eyes grew wide at the thought that I could possibly eat that much! I looked at her, laughed and told her he was right. What gets me though, is how he knew it was all for me? *grins*
And yes, everything but the fried rice is in the fridge. This weekend, as my family is munching out on something I don't like, I'll be pigging out on pure yummy bliss.
