Time Management!

It has been such a long time since I have updated my blog! So many things to update on. I was out of work for less than three weeks. I now have two BIG clients. One client is BIG because of the opportunities she consistently has, and the ones she's given to me in the past. She's the client I've worked with before.

My other client has the project I've run for well over two years now! Different processes and everything else, but same project, and their client is the same as the one that my former client for that project served. A huge thanks goes out to those that helped me get my foot in the door on that one too! I'm trying hard every day to EARN the wonderful compliments you all gave to me.

So both clients are very accustomed to on demand Dana. You say you need it now, I had it ready ten minutes ago. You say you need it in an hour, it's done now. By the end of the night? Great! You'll have it in an hour.

Now right now, it just so happens that BOTH projects decide to ramp up at the exact same time. I mean, on the same DAY even! YAY!!!! So when a ramp happens, it takes a couple of days to get everything just where it needs to be to run itself.

My one project, "L", will take a bit longer to get to that point, only because we're starting from the ground up. It's at the very beginning where it doesn't require full attention just yet, but when it requires attention, it's NOW. This is the time to get processes set up, but we're still developing the processes for this client. Processes is definitely where everything is at!

The other project, "O", I had set up perfectly, until responsibilities changed and grew. So, I had to take a few days to set everything up on both sides of that one to run nice and smooth. Oh, and one side on that one is facing major client deadline. Did I mention that?

So here I am, with both clients saying "here! We need this in the next couple of hours!" Oysh. So, I prioritize. Payments and batches on one side, while working the sheet on the other. Back and forth, back and forth. This is one of those times when I hate chaos. Chaos does not reign supreme. Chaos causes havoc, which in turn causes things to get lost or not completed.

I want to do well for both. One is a friend, a great friend, and I do not want to let her down. I envision us doing great and fantastic things together. She is one of those people who just touches something, and it turns to gold. So I really need to manage my time more effectively so that we can both ride the train together. Know what I mean?

And the other client, well she reminds me so much of the first that if I hooked those two together, WOW! I don't want to disappoint her either. With the processes in place there though, I don't see that happening. In fact, I see us growing by leaps and bounds VERY quickly!

It just comes down to managing schedules and processes. Once I have them in place, the rest is pie. I think as I sleep tonight, I will try to keep the first client on the mind so that I can think up more effective processes for me to follow.

In the meantime, it's bedtime for me! I have cleared my plate for tomorrow knowing that as soon as I wake up, it will be full again.I wouldn't have it any other way. I couldn't have it any other way. It is the life!

Good night all.
