Crazy busy!

So, Katie and I have been finding ourselves increasingly busy over the past couple of weeks, insanely so! We decided that it was time to hire an administrative assistant. The one we hired though, never got back to us for her training. Every day for a week, poor Katie was asking me to hire someone. Finally, we bit the bullet and put out the applications.

Now when it comes to oDesk, I rarely find fantastic people that impress me. If I find one that I can train to at least meet Katie's expectations, I'm happy. (I have insanely high expectations of everyone.) However, this time, I found TWO! So we decided to hire one, and pass the other one off to one of the other teams as they needed assistants as well.

Then my boss contacts me and says "Well, we're getting ready to hand you another project so we think you may need another project manager." Panic runs through my ice cold veins! I love this project and have been with it for YEARS. There is no way I want to be off of it. She tells me she's not taking it away, etc, but just doesn't want us to be overwhelmed. And that is just how fast everything changed, and got crazy busy all at once.

So now, we have a new junior project lead. She'll be taking over the Ongoing side of things under the direction of Katie and I. She's got ALL of the qualifications that we feel are necessary for this position. The one thing she lacks is experience writing for this project or editing for it. So, we need to get her to fill that role at least once so that she can identify with those that she's trying to lead.

And, we also have a new administrative assistant as well. Rockalicious! This girl was trained in support today, and tomorrow I get to train her in so much more. It will be a while before her training is complete, but Katie gets her assistant now. YAY!

And, some of you may remember a certain project I walked away from two years ago. We were on LW, and it was experiencing a ton of bugs and pay problems. People just were not getting paid for their work. I promised everyone that once it was fixed, I would return to it.

Well, LW never did fix that project. However, oDesk has. It's still in the works so no promises quite yet, but IF we get this back, I know a lot of people that are going to be EXTREMELY happy!

So between training people, organizing things, test batches, categorizing and uploading batches, etc, things have been crazy and will continue to be so through the weekend. It's a GOOD kind of crazy. I can't tell you guys how good it feels to be getting back the things we lost when LW shut down. Not only are we getting them back, but they are even better than before!

And now, I am headed to bed. I am ever so grateful to everybody on all of my teams both on oDesk and elsewhere. You guys have always been so absolutely amazing and you impress me each and every single day. Thank you!
