Finally, my ReadyForce paperwork is done, and I have the green light to get back to work. That is great considering work with WFL seems to be slowing down a small bit, and no telling if/when more work with LW will come through. We're in prime slow season right now. Once I get the ReadyForce queue cleared, it would be great to find a third thing to do as well.
Don't get me wrong; it's not that I won't be earning enough between RF and WFL. I just get so bored. I am one of those people that just really needs a lot of things to keep me busy. I hate having downtime.
Little Mama seems to be doing well. She gets to come out of her cage tomorrow. We see no signs of infection, and since we changed her cat food, she seems to be having regular stools that aren't too hard or soft. Company is Blue Mountain, or something like that. It's a completely holistic food, all natural, with no grains. The people at Petsmart recommended it to us once I explained her problem. If this is effective, she will have no choice but to stay inside as she would have to stay on this. I can't risk her eating at other houses, or eating other things since she needs a special diet.
The kittens, barely over a week old, are already up and moving around. They hiss at me like crazy. That tells me it's time for me to start socializing them a bit more. They are gorgeous too! I'll have to take some pictures to post for you guys.
Hana and Charlie go to be de-balled on Wednesday. We'll have to keep them sequestered in a room while they recuperate, just to lower the risk of the dogs playing too rough with either of them. Charlie isn't too sure what to think of the dogs. He's starting to venture out here more when they are in the room, but usually only if they're asleep at the time. Arlen can't decide if he's going to be the paternal protector role for Charlie, or if he's the older brother irritated by Charlie's presence.
The husband and children are excited to be off next week. I'm trying to get as much done this week as I am able to because next week, I won't be able to work much with everyone home. I'm trying to reserve enough money for us to take the kids to a movie at least. They've worked so hard all year for a special treat.
What really irritates me with the RF job though is that today I found in my stack of resumes, a resume for the position I was originally promised. Only now, they're looking for someone with more corporate recruiting experience. Yet, the resume is there for me to review. That just seems way off to me.
It's all right though. I'm still looking to grow with this one. I want to grow with a company and turn it into a long term career. Sometimes, to do that, you really do have to start at the very bottom and work your way up. I really would love to finish my bachelor's degree though. I know that it would get me very far in achieving my goals. Potential employers would take me more seriously if I had that degree.
These days, experience just isn't enough. Companies really want that degree. It doesn't matter what the degree is in either. You could have a bachelor's degree in liberal arts, computer crap, or anything at all. They just look for the degree. The bad thing though is often times, if you don't have the experience but have the degree, you'll get the job before someone who has the experience but not the degree.
It is what it is. It's okay though. Degree or not, I still shine. The company that sees that, recognizes that, and rewards it is the one that will benefit.
Happy Monday all! Here's to a wonderful rest of the week.
